Implementation of the GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ system will allow the benefits of T-LED technology to be fully realized, with a wide range of voltage capabilities. DVA Holdings has committed to offer patent licenses to practice the GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ standards to companies desiring such a license on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms.

Licenses are available under all DVA Holdings patents and patent applications that are essential for implementing the GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ standards (“Standards Essential Patents” or “SEPs”). New SEPs may be added following a determination of their essentiality at no additional cost.

Our objective is to allow our licensing partners to leverage the GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ system to ensure the safety of and support further innovation of their LED lighting products and to grow their businesses. Implementing the GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ system under a license from DVA Holdings capitalizes on the large market opportunity for upgrading fluorescent lighting to LED technology by delivering reliable, safe and efficient T-LED lighting solutions.

Additional License Opportunities

DVA Holdings owns other intellectual property that, although not essential for products implementing the GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ connector system standards, present opportunities to enhance those products through advanced features and superior lighting performance. These features include, for example, our proprietary heat sink design for wide beam angle generation, no-wire PCB end connector system, multiple parallel driver circuit color tuning technology, and internal controller and wireless data communication capabilities. Licenses to this additional intellectual property are also available.

Our replaceable POE enabled T-LED lamp networked lighting intellectual property is also available for license.

For more details, see Intellectual Property

DVA Holdings will work with interested companies to establish appropriate terms for each license in its full context, considering all relevant factors (for example, the licensed patents, the licensed products, the field of use, the business model for selling or distributing such products, the term of the license, payment arrangements, etc.).

Terms For License To Standards Essential Patents

The DVA Holdings GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ Patent Portfolio License includes the following principle terms:

  • The license includes all standards essential patents that DVA Holdings owns, and new essential patents will be added at no additional cost during the term.

  • The license is royalty-bearing, worldwide and nonexclusive.

  • The Licensee pays reasonable per-unit royalty rates for each T-LED lamp and lamp holder.

  • There is no royalty stacking, meaning that the Licensee pays the same royalty rate regardless of how many essential patents are utilized in its products.

  • The Licensee is required to provide quarterly royalty reports and payments.

  • The Licensee is responsible for royalties on licensed products made or sold in a country where DVA Holdings has an issued patent covering a GJ6.6 Standard implemented in your products.

  • The company who controls the branding of the products may obtain a license for its entire chain of distribution.

  • No royalties are due on lamp holders included with T-LED lamps or fixtures provided that the lamp holders are sourced from a licensed supplier that is complaint, and the trademark of the supplier is identifiable on lamp holders.

  • The initial license term is customizable to the needs of the Licensee. The license is renewable during the life of the patents.

The royalty rates of our licensing program are offered on a non-discriminatory basis to anyone who wants to benefit from implementing the GJ6.6 Snap-Fit™ connector system in their products, thus contributing to fair competition in the market. Our rates have been determined with a view to be considered as fair and reasonable compensation for the value of the patented technologies and allow for an easy adoption of the license, including a straightforward calculation of the overall royalty due by each implementer using the per unit royalty rate approach.
